Point O’Woods

Wooden church with stairs surrounded by trees

Point O’Woods is a private community, founded in 1894 as a Chautauqua Assembly. The existing Point O’Woods Association dates to 1898 and owns all of the land within its borders, which it leases to its stockholders. For more than 120 years, the Point O’Woods mission has been to operate a summer resort for people who appreciate a quiet place by the sea, apart from the hurried pace of fashionable resorts. With no public services available, and its own private ferry, Point O’Woods remains a quiet, low-key multi-generational community.
